these images from planet blue's latest lookbook gave me intense hair envy. although, i'm happy to report that my crazy hair vitamins, viviscal, which i wrote about over a month ago, are actually working! after one month of taking these vitamins, my hair is stronger and a bit longer. reviews said that it takes about 3 months to really see results, but so far so good.

when i spotted this shopbop story on 5 ways to wear a leather skirt, it reminded me of a veda leather skirt that i met at intermix last Fall and fell literally head-over-heels for. rambo convinced me that it wasn't a "need." but seeing it styled 5 different ways, spotting the former editor of Harper Bazaar's Russia Miroslava Duma looking like perfection in her leather skirt above, and then finding a nearly identical skirt to my dreamy Veda version at Urban Outfitters on sale for $99...well, who could deny such obvious meant-to-be signs?

i'm typically very loyal to my favorite products, but when it comes to self-tanners, well...i'm a cheater. i have yet to find a self-tanner that isn't too orange, too stinky, doesn't streak, stain, or look like a speckled sun rash instead of a bronze glow. until this past weekend when i met L'Oreal's new Sublime Bronze Salon Airbrush. it sprays like a fine, even mist, and if you stand in your shower while it's in use, you will honestly feel like you're getting a spray tan, with the bonus of not leaving home. it smells faintly citrus-y and left yours truly with the perfect amount of even, golden color. and if all that doesn't sell you, then the price tag certainly will. it's under $12 (read: practically free).

last night as rambo left for football i hunkered down on the couch for some girl time (read: wine and rachel zoe re-runs). i was seriously distraught to discover that only ONE rachel zoe project was left on my dvr. so i watched intently and soaked up every bit of zoe i could. it's amazing what one discovers when watching something for the 5th...er 25th time. case in point: the raquel allegra white drapey tee that rachel wears with literally every outfit in episode 8 of season 3.

i'm literally still glowing from rambo and my's parisian adventure. paris is truly on of the most gorgeous, romantic, and chic citys in the world. the glow of the tuileries garden, louvre, and eiffel tower at night is magical. if you make it to paris, here are my favorites:

the hemingway bar at the ritz

(even though it's more of a concept store and less shopping...don't save your shopping money for this place, as yours truly did. there's little to buy, but loads to see!)

dinner and drinks at KONG.

the top floor restaurant with an amazing view of the seine and the city at night.

kong was featured in Sex & The City The Movie, where Carrie met the Russian's ex-wife. Tres chic.

walking along the Seine river. then grabbing the hop-on-hop-off Boat Tour.

i really recommend the boat tour. it's inexpensive, super romantic, and a fantastic way to see the city while giving your feet a break from all the walking.

you cannot leave Paris without eating a macaron.

they are heaven.

cafes have the chairs turned out so you can people watch all day.

Love padlocks are attached to the fenced bridges. Couples engrave or sign their name on each lock before attaching it to the fence to symbolize their love.

i don't even need to suggest having a baguette in Paris...because you cannot avoid it. they are everywhere.

rambo and i returned from our whirlwind london and paris adventure late wednesday night. i can't even begin to share the amazing journey we had, complete with a crazy late night of partying at newly opened The Box in London with our friends, and a Karl Lagerfeld and Julia Roitfeld sighting (amongst others) at the Ritz in Paris, where rambo refused to steal my Ritz Paris champagne glass for me to keep as a memento. i promise to post a photo or two soon from our trip.

in the meantine, i'm trying to settle back in, which includes tons of catching up on my favorite fashion sites. while quickly scanning my friend nicole's insanely gorgeous and ethereal blog aptly titled Where There Is Love There Is Life, she directed me to 10 Ways to Feel Sexier by Spring, where i literally fell in love with these suzanna dai copenhagen earrings. after all, who doesn't love a statement piece?

rambo and i spent some time this weekend decorating our love nest. we found this champagne mirror that we hung horizontally over our couch, plus a few additional frames. we still need a few more art pieces, so needless to say i was thrilled to read about artwelove, a web devoted to offering limited edition (and affordable) prints by world-class artists, including some featured at NYC's MOMA.

i also thought up the most genius fashion-loving name for our pooch-to-be. but rambo nixed the name louis the minute i let it slip that LV was my inspiration. we'll have our little pup in just 18 days, and while rambo put the kabosh on my pet name du jour, he can't stop me from toting our pooch in a bag!

always on a quest for the latest, greatest beauty product, i read last night that famed hairstylist Orlando Pita recommends the Finnish dietary supplement Viviscal to strengthen and lengthen locks. Pita said, "I've never once had someone come back and tell me, 'You know what, I've been using this, but it doesn't seem to be working for me.'" i literally couldn't sign up fast enough. i read it takes about 6 weeks to see major results, so i'll report back in august.

happy friday! who doesn't love a little beauty inspiration for the weekend?

right now, i'm really loving a dark, smoky eye in a deep, shimmery brown. let's face it, the black smoky eye is tired and you need a killer tan to avoid looking like little jenny-turned-sassy-goth-girl from Gossip Girls. Nars in Mekong is my go to lately. one, because i'm a Nars loyalist, and two because i love their super pigmented colors and rich texture. throw in a girly pink lip, and voila! gorge.

while i admit, the day-glo lip is a little ballsy, it's definitely a way to make a killer sex-pot statement. just make sure the rest of you is pulled together from head to toe, because people will be looking.

When was the last time you washed your makeup brushes? Yeah - that's what I thought. Makeup artist Rebecca Restrepo says to wash your brushes with dishwashing soap because it's designed to pull grease from hair (or synthetic hair). Don't use shampoo or face wash because those kinds of products usually contain moisturizers that will coat the bristles. Then set the brushes on a table or counter and let the brush heads hang off the side to air dry.

i spent the weekend sick as a dog and missed my sister's first ever babyshower, which i spent weeks preparing for. it was pretty depressing. but i did get caught up on some magazines and enjoyed the sight of rambo vacuuming while i lazed around on the couch.
